The first thing that strikes me about this is that it is very shape based. I really like the concept of the piece too and you can't resist but go up and down and check that they match, its a simple fun idea. This was commissioned by Stokely  Design Associates to visually represent the way modern medicine is becoming bespoke to the individual although i feel this is a bigger thing in America and countries that don't have an NHS system. Instead their medication is marketed to people and sold as a product, which is kind of an alien concept to me. But I think the work still says something to the british viewer, to me it seems to show how far medication has come that we have almost a tablet for everything, the bright colours seem celebratory and as a whole it has a positive atmosphere.

* The first thing that caught my eye about this piece was the simplicity. I like these pieces that are really simple but convey the message because they have a clever concept.
* the use of the two primary colours is good because they are both at different ends of the colour wheel and so they clash each other in an oddly pleasing way, it helps each part of the image stand out as brightly.
* The texture used gives the piece some depth which makes them stand out from the flat background.
* I like that the background is this creamy colour because i feel a white background would have been too stark and made the colours look overly bright and loud. But the cream gives a more subtle contrast between the background and foreground that is quite aesthetically pleasing.

* I like the composition, the way the bees are coming out of the frame created by the text. It creates a sense of movement.

*The swirling lines of the vines guides the eye on a twisting journey to match the flight of the bee.

* the colours feel organic. The yellow on the bees stands out most as it is surrounded by block black, by contrast the yellow is bright and eye catching. but the same colour surrounded by the white seems almost green by comparison. This play with the colours makes for a more interesting piece aesthetically when limited on colour due to the media.

The thing I liked about these is the aesthetic charm, the texture makes it seem rustic, like something you'd find in a farm shop. The colours compliment each other. The birds and the curly writing give it a sense of calm and playfulness. The shapes are all block and quite chubby, there doesn't seem to be any delicate lines on the main part and this means that the writing stands apart in contrast.
